Arbutus Firecracker 10k
Despite sweltering temperatures on July 4th, Striders earned many top finishes at the Arbutus Firecracker 10k hosted by Bullseye Running. For the women, Hannah Betman finished 1st overall (39:00), followed by Kristen Gray in 2nd (39:53). Samantha Curry finished 5th overall (1st in her age group) in 43:43, Deb Hicks was 10th overall (1st in her age group) in 46:37, and Debbie Cohen was 2nd in her age group in 1:08:27.
On the men’s side, Adam Sachs led the team with his 11th place overall (3rd place age group) finish in 37:55. Eric Schuler was 15th overall in 38:55, Kevin Ford was 18th (2nd in his age group) in 39:22, Jacob Englander was 21st in 40:30, and Dave Berardi was 50th (2nd in his age group) in 46:53.
Firecracker Run 5k
In East Moline, IL, Paul Hugus finished 15th overall (2nd in his age group) at the Firecracker Run 5k with a time of 17:34.
Freedom Half Marathon
At Bishop Event’s Freedom Half, Jicheng (Jason) Liu ran 1:28:47 to place 5th overall and 1st in his age group.
