Debbie Cohen

Debbie is a lifelong swimmer and competed in swimming in college. She took up running at age 30 simply as a form of cross training, only running one or two times a week for several years. But she entered running races early on and quickly started winning age group awards. She upped her training and become more serious about running in her late 50s, joining the racing team in late 2017. She has since performed well in her age group through her late 60s in a variety of distances, has qualified for Boston four times, and hopes to be able to run it a final time at age 70! Debbie is a strong proponent of cross training, and swimming and strength training are a key part of her routine. Her “retirement career” of the last ten years has been working as a personal trainer, where she thrives on helping older clients overcome health challenges and build strength, endurance, flexibility and mobility.

Over 65 PRs include a 26.02 5K and 56:12 10K. Her fastest marathon time was 4:06 at age 60, which was a BQ time with a 19-minute buffer that year.
