Jay Holder
Jay has been running since his senior year in high school when he traded in his speedo and his musical script for a pair of short shorts. He went on to run Division III cross country and track and field at the State University of New York at Oswego. After college, he and his two best friends founded the Charlotte Running Club in North Carolina and Jay fell in love with road racing – particularly the marathon. He’s run more than 20 of them including the Boston Marathon five times. After turning 40, Jay spent a few years on the trails winning the 2024 Helen Back Mountain Marathon in Georgia and completing the Rim to Rim to Rim traverse of the Grand Canyon twice. He moved to Severna Park, MD from Atlanta in 2024 and decided to give the roads another go. He’s excited to see if he can be faster as a master. Jay’s proudest recent running accomplishment is pushing a wheelchair in the 2025 Marine Corps Marathon while raising money for the Kyle Pease Foundation. He works in communications and broadcasting within the sport of track and field and loves spending time with his wife Lauren and his kids Charles and Lucy Rae.
