Arbutus Firecracker 10k

One of the most popular annual team races is the Arbutus Firecrack 10k hosted by Bullseye Running on the Fourth of July. This year, the team sent 12 members to compete – and all earned top 3 overall or age group finishes!

The women had a great morning, sweeping the top 4 places. Hannah Betman led the way in 1st overall with a time of 37:14. She was followed by Rachel Roberts (2nd, 39:13), Samantha Merkel (3rd, 39:47) and Joy Lewis (4th, 40:00). Debbie Cohen also earned 2nd in her age group with a time of 1:02:09.

On the men’s side, Jason Sammut led the team, finishing in 8th place (1st age group) with a time of 35:58. The rest of the men had strong races as well: Kevin Ford (10th/1st age group, 36:05), Alex Livernois (12th/3rd age group, 36:22), Eric Schuler (13th/3rd age group, 36:53), Jason Tripp (17th/1st age group, 37:39), Jason Liu (25th/2nd age group, 38:54) and Dave Berardi (60th/1st age group, 44:42).

Dundalk Heritage 6k

Sean Caskey made his racing team debut at the Dundalk Heritage 6k. He took the win with a time of 21:44, almost 2 minutes ahead of second place.


Palmer Lake 4th of July Fun Run 4 Miler

A little further from home, Paul Hugus competed in the Palmer Lake 4th of July Fun Run 4 Miler in Colorado. He set a PR with his time of 21:54, placing 14th overall and 1st Master.
