Jason Tripp
Jason Tripp started running with a 2.5 mile “Run for the Health of It” when he was five years old. He ran the whole Homespun/Broken Land Parkway loop without stopping. He was a charter member of the Junior Striders (for more than 10 years). At Oakland Mills High School, he was captain of a cross country team that set a Maryland record of six straight state championships. He earned three All-County selections in XC and was the Howard County Champion in the Indoor 3200 meters. Jason ran cross country and track at Haverford College under coach Tom Donnelly as the team won twelve consecutive Conference Championships and competed in the NCAA National Championships.
Jason holds the team record for the Metric Marathon distance and the Grandmaster record for ten miles. He has been named Striders Master of the Year four times and is a member of the Howard County Striders Hall of Fame. Jason recently earned his World Major Marathon Six Star medal for completing marathons in Boston, New York, Berlin, London, Chicago, and Tokyo in an average time of 2:54:27.
