Wei Hu
Wei started running in middle school, initially just to avoid being late for class. After school, he often ran home while other kids rode their bikes alongside him. He spent a year on his high school track and cross-country team, and in college, he competed in the 1500 and 5000 meters at the annual sports meet.
Wei ran his first half marathon in 1998 and completed his first full marathon in 2002. He began running more consistently during the pandemic, which reignited his passion for the sport. Since then, he has completed the Boston Marathon three times. His personal best is 2:58:07, achieved at the 2025 Chevron Houston Marathon.
Wei joined the Striders and PALs in 2024. Running has become an indispensable part of Wei’s life. He cherishes the peace of mind it brings during his time on the road.
