Lydia Radcliffe

I grew up in Laurel, Maryland as a full-time soccer player. I never ran Cross Country or track. I was a full time soccer player and since the age of 10 wanted to play d1 soccer. I competed and played at Chaplegate Christian Academy in Howard County and broke the county record for most career goals and single-season goals.
I went on to play division one soccer at Charleston Southern University on a soccer scholarship there I quickly became known as the soccer girl who liked to run and spring of my senior year the distance track coaches asked me to run. My first track meet ever was a Division one track meet. I ran 5K 10 K for the college and broke a 5K record even though I had never run track before in my life. I was offered to run graduate Cross Country and track for a scholarship at Charleston Southern but opted to come coach soccer at the University of Maryland. Once I finished collegiate running I stuck with running for fun. I did not train for any specific races and then decided to run a marathon and did well! My cousin coaches me in my 4th marathon this past fall and I ran 3:04. I’m really excited to break three hours and continue to see what my potential is in the marathon is and hope to get much faster!
I love running because it is fun to connect with other people in a unique way and bond over the love of running and become close friends with others while you run.
I am currently a full-time soccer coach at Soccer By Rachel and I love getting to train kids every day all ages from eight up to college and the relationships that form because of the love of Soccer.
