Dear Striders,
Please join us to celebrate the club’s 50th Anniversary on Sunday, June 28th from 11:00am-3:00pm. We’re asking past and present members to come out and celebrate our club’s history and running in Howard County. We will celebrate our members, volunteers, current and former board members, our history, and all things that make the Striders a welcoming and supportive fitness community. Picnic is open to members and non-members and there is no cost to attend.
Since this is our 50th Anniversary we have booked a larger pavilion with more parking, bathrooms, and a playground for the kids. So, please bring your family! In lieu of grilling, food will be catered by a local company Farmhouse Greens. Representatives from the Howard County Council and Howard County Executive are scheduled to present resolutions recognizing us for our contributions to the community. Also, scheduled to attend are House Delegate Dr. Wu and representatives from the Columbia Association.
The picnic will include our annual business meeting including board elections and annual awards. There will be a raffle with prizes and a 50th anniversary giveaway. Plus, a BIG announcement about the club. If you have ever participated in a Striders’ race, training program, bagel run or volunteered your time to the club, we encourage you to come out. Your participation and involvement have helped us thrive for 50 years. I encourage you all read about our history on our website and share your running photos for picnic.
