Operation Iceberg Series #7

For the final race of the Operation Iceberg 2010 series ninety six runners showed up to Thunderhill elementary school to participate in one of three races (2 Mile, 10K, and 15K). Conditions were cool and overcast. The winners of the two mile race were James Blackwood at 11:34 and Heather Ferron at 13:58. For the 10K, Andrew Towne at 37:02 and Tasha Hogan at 41:18 won. The winners of the 15K were Adam Wytko at 56:07 [Ed: new course record] and Halsey Sinclair at 1:04:28.

Both Ashlyn Sinclair and Tasha Hogan ran times faster than the course record (40:30, set in 2002 by Vicki Lang), but Halsey Sinclair set the new women’s 6 mile standard in 39:19. Operation Iceberg Series #5

After two consecutive cancellations of weekly races 101 eager runners greeted by sunny skies and 40 degree temperatures showed up to the 3rd race of the Howard County Striders’ Operation Iceberg series at Longfellow Elementary. The courses were a two mile loop and and modified 6 mile course which consisted of three laps of the two mile loop. Daniel Miranda and Tasha Hogan won the six mile race and Stephen Olenick and Cindy Alms won the two mile race.
