57 runners came out on a pleasant Sunday afternoon to Northfield Elementary School to run the 1st fall weekly series race on the Striders Weekly Series schedule. Karsten Brown and Tasha Hogan were the winners of the 5k race. Congratulations also to recent zero to weekly participants who were using this as their graduation race.

41 runners of all ages ran the Howard County striders meet of the miles on a pleasant evening at Oakland Mills High School. 5 year old Carolyn Shadrick won the kids 100m dash. 7- year old Emmett Seybold was the 400m winner. For the Adults, Elisha Peterson led the way for the men, and Tasha Hogan was the woman’s winner in the mile run.

Mark Eagles and Mark Loeffler were the mens winners. Joelle Becker and Randy Becker were the co-ed leaders. Beth Hannon and Faye Weaver paced the women runners.

“The Most Delicious Relay in Town”

21 punly named teams came out for the striders all-fruit relay at Oakland mills middle school. Onlookers may have done double takes as apples, oranges, melons, coconuts, pineapples and other fruits made their way around the neighborhood. The race consisted of four two mile loops.Team Could ‘ve had a v8 were the male team winners. Speed bob square pants were the mixed team winners, and team plum was the first all female team.
