The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is a national organization committed to growing the running community.

Their goals include:

  • Helping to grow running clubs nationwide
  • Hosting a variety of events aimed at improving running both competitively and recreationally
  • Improving relationships between running and their surrounding communities
  • Providing organizational guidance for running clubs across the country

Maryland RRCA State Championship Series

Each year, the Maryland RRCA designates several races as the State Championship events for their distance. The Maryland RRCA provides special prizes for the overall finishers at these State Championship events.

Maryland Grand Prix Series

The Maryland RRCA also designates certain races as part of the Grand Prix Series. Runners who compete in four different Grand Prix races are eligible for an end of the season award. Runners are scored based on their performance in each race against the overall field and against runners in their age group.
