Matt Wilson started running at age 40 after ending a long term relationship, looking for a new start and something to get him out of the house and back on his feet. He started training for triathlons and found he had a natural talent for running, so he decided to pursue running exclusively to see if he could become competitive. His improvement was very rapid and he set new PR's almost every time he raced for the first 2 years. Matt qualified for the Boston marathon in his first attempt, at which time he realized his true strength was in the marathon.

Matt has continued to improve in the marathon and sees no reason why he can't continue to improve for several years to come. In addition to running, he was married this past August to his wife Patty, who is also a runner. They were married at the 9.5 mile mark of the Crim 10M road race in Flint, MI. He finished the race and doubled back to wait on Patty to come through, at which time they had a short ceremony on the court house lawn with about 14,000 of their closest friends and family before going on and finishing the race with his new bride. Matt now lives in Red Lion, PA, but is looking to move into northern Maryland in the fall of 2008.
