Carlos Renjifo has been a Strider since he arrived in Maryland in the fall of 2005. He was first introduced to the world of running at the age of 10, when he participated at a middle school cross country meet in Frankfurt, Germany. Since that time he has continued to pursue his passion for distance running, racing competitively throughout his high school years in Germany and in college, where he was a member of MIT's varsity track and cross country teams all four years. Since graduating from college Carlos has shifted his training focus towards distances, ranging from 5 miles to the marathon. When he is not out running, he enjoys playing ball sports, dancing, reading and volunteering (both with the Howard County Striders and at other local organizations). Carlos currently serves as the committee chair for the Feet First racing team. |
